About the role
WRMH is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our engineering team. The role will be predominantly workshop based, helping inspect, prepare, repair and support forklift and materials handling equipment, with field work included when the wider team needs help.
It is an ideal opportunity for someone from an allied technical industry who already understands tools, mechanical systems, electrical basics, hydraulics, plant, automotive, agricultural, HGV, access equipment or similar work, and now wants to build a future in forklift engineering.
What you will be doing
- Supporting workshop inspection, preparation, repair and maintenance of forklift and materials handling equipment.
- Helping engineers diagnose faults, prepare parts and complete practical repair tasks safely and accurately.
- Learning how mixed forklift fleets are serviced, repaired, checked and prepared for customers.
- Supporting field engineers on customer sites when the team needs extra practical help.
- Keeping work areas, tools, job information and communication clear so the team can move quickly.
Who we are looking for
- Qualified foundation: NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant technical, engineering, mechanical, electrical, automotive, plant or allied discipline.
- Practical mindset: someone who enjoys understanding how things work and wants to become better through real work.
- Team attitude: a person who listens, asks good questions, helps others and takes pride in doing things properly.
- Development focus: someone who wants a supported path into forklift engineering rather than standing still.
What WRMH will offer
- Support from experienced people who understand forklift repair, workshop standards and customer site pressures.
- Exposure to a wide range of equipment, brands, faults, parts and service situations.
- A team environment where practical effort, learning and reliability are valued.
- A role with workshop stability and the chance to support field work as your knowledge develops.
